The Southern Poverty Law Center works to reform juvenile justice and education in Mississippi. The organization seeks reform through public education, community organizing, litigation, legislative advocacy, training and technical assistance. -
Mission First
Mission First provides an opportunity for you to share the love of Christ by helping people with their unmet needs. You can provide medical and dental services to those that can't afforded them, after school mentoring to children whose parents are unable to help, sports programs to children who don't have other opportunities to participate and transform blighted communities so people can once again feel safe in their neighborhoods. Mission First was started in 1999 as a ministry of First Baptist Jackson. Seeing the extreme need for transformation of a community through the power of Jesus the blighted Rosedown Apartments were turned into a community center housing a medical and dental clinic, legal aid office, educational facility and gym. -

North Mississippi Rural Legal Services
North Mississippi Rural Legal Services (NMRLS) was established as a training program for law students at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) School of Law.Originally called Lafayette County Legal Aid, NMRLS was considered by its organizers as a combination legal services and teaching program.However, NMRLS soon gained statewide attention for its litigation amid the Civil Rights era that impacted hundreds of thousands of people and places across the state.The impact is still felt today— 50 YEARS LATER. -

Offers a variety of programs, resources and information for persons with disabilities. MSD has served thousands of Mississippi children and adults living with disabilities since 1959. We are a 501 (c) 3 statewide non-profit organization and a registered charity with the Mississippi Secretary of State. To support our unique programs and services, we depend on funding from donations from individuals and corporations, grants from foundations, and proceeds from special fund raising events. -
