Sparks Clinic – UAB Civitan-Sparks Clinics
The Civitan-Sparks Center for Developmental and Learning Disorders is part of the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics under the Department of Pediatrics at UAB. Civitan-Sparks provides evaluation, consultation, primary care, and dental services for individuals with a broad range of physical, developmental, learning and/or behavioral challenges, in a family-centered and culturally sensitive setting. These services involve an interdisciplinary team made up of the following specialties:
Audiology Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Nutrition Occupational Therapy Psychology Social Work Speech/Language PathologyThe Civitan-Sparks Clinics are an integral component of the Alabama University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. The Clinics are the home of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau's Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities training program. We provide clinical training for many disciplines such as dental, social work, audiology, psychology, occupational therapy, speech/language pathology, nutrition, pediatrics, nursing, family, self-advocacy and others.
